A three days itinerary to discover the beauties left by greats men of the Veneto territory. An itinerary between art, history, culture and the best of food and wine.
1st day: Vicenza and the Palladio
Arrival of the participants to Vicenza in the late morning, meeting with our English Speaking Tourist Guide and visit to the Palladio 500 Exhibition. At the end visit to the city of Vicenza. The itinerary start from the Olympic Theatre located inside the Territory Palace, ruins of the old castle. Passing through Corso Palladio it is possible to visit the San Corona Church, and then in San Corona Contrà it is possible to admire Leoni Montanari Palace Gallery. Once in Contrà Porti not to be missed are Tiene Palace, Barbaran Da Porto Palace and Iseppo Da Porto Palace (external view only). City most famous Square is Piazza dei Signori also vary close to the Basilica Palladiana and Loggia del Capitaniato (external view only).In the afternoon continuation of the visit through Villa Capra Valmarana, called “La Rotonda” (internal visit on Wednesday only), masterpiece of Andrea Palladio, located at the city entrance. In the evening transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
2nd day: Bassano del Grappa, Possano, the Canova and Asolo
After breakfast in hotel, meeting with our Tourist Guide and visit of Bassano del Grappa: Ponte degli Alpini (the Bridge of the Alpine), the painter Jacopo da Ponte and the fine pottery production are just few of the town’s symbols. The Wood Bridge, one of Palladio masterwork, the Ezzellini Castle, the Civic Museum, and the numerous frescos inside the palaces make precious the city centre. In the afternoon transfer to Possagno to visit the impressive neo-classic Temple which overlook the panoramic hills surrounding the area. Possagno is also birthplace of the world famous Antonio Canova who designed the town church. Then transfer to Asolo called “the hundred horizon town“ for his romantic beauty. Asolo has been the favourite destination for poets, artists and literary men of the history coming from all around the world. In the evening transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
3rd day: Treviso and the Canaletto
After breakfast in hotel, transfer to Treviso and meeting with our English Speaking Tourist Guide and visit of the exhibition “Canaletto, Venice and its beauties”. After the exhibition, transfer to Treviso to visit the city: the Duomo with its impressive neoclassical style and grace decorated with medieval crypt and paintings by Tiziano, Pordenone and P. Bordon. The Battistero built in the XI century close to the Duomo rich of frescoes in Byzantine style. In the main square the most famous palaces: the Torre Campanaria and the Palazzo dei Trecento (Palace of the 300) which main room is reachable through a wonderful stairway. In the afternoon free time for the continuation of the city visit. In the evening transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
4th day: Venice
After breakfast in hotel, transfer to Venice and meeting with our English Speaking Tourist Guide for a full day visit of the city, historical source of inspiration for the Canaletto and a lot of other painters and artists from all around the world. Lunch in typical restaurant. In the afternoon visit to San Giorgio Maggiore. In the evening return.
